Best way to get curly hair with flat iron?

what is the best way in ur opinion to curl ur hair and get it curly or wavy with a flat iron/ straightener. i have very straight hair naturally and have had friends do my hair curly adn it works best with a flat iron... i just don't know how to do it myself

oh, and what brand is the flat iron, there are so many, i would never be able to pick- preferably under 30$

thanxs :)Best way to get curly hair with flat iron?
Try the Conair flat iron. It runs between $20-$25.

It's difficult to explain it, but here is a video tutorial on curling your hair with a flat iron. Also, although she is using an expensive type of flat iron, it works just fine with the conair. Trust me :D

I like my revlon one but not sure how it is on curling
you can use any flat iron really... just go to walmart and find a cheap one =)

here's a good video showing you how to get waves with a straightener. (the video says how to crimp hair, but it still works fine.)

What should i do with my hair?

ive always hated my hair. its not to curly but not yet wavy. i dont like how my hair come out when i try to do it. does anyone know an easy way to make my hair look good? i own a hair straightener, blowdryer, hair curlers, and a curling iron. i use the curling products after straightening my hair. please help me!!! i need a casual look for schoolWhat should i do with my hair?
Straighten your hair, and leave it out. Make a quiff (its those lumps in the front of you head) and pin it with bobby pins. Change your hairstyle often, so you dont get bored.

Try straightening it with a side pony.

Or keep it curly/wavy with a bun.

Hope it helps :)What should i do with my hair?
i have kinda the same problem, i have started sleeping on it after i've gotten out of the shower so i wake up in the morning and it is nice and wavy! then i straighten my bangs and put some anti frizz serum on.

Pompadour with curly hair?

Alright, so I've been wanting a pompadour lately, but I don't quite know how to get one with my hair. My hair isn't really curly, just on the ends of the hair kind of curls. But, I don't really wanna use a hair-straightener. Does anyone know what products to use/how to use them?Pompadour with curly hair?
I found a couple guides/videos. I think you can just use some gel (on wet hair) and since your roots are going to be the hair next to your face, you shouldn't have to straighten.

I straighten my hair with very good straighteners and during the day my hair stays friz free but the last couple of times I have been to a disco it goes frizzy on top, does anyone else have this problem and how can I stop it?

Also I am thinking of curling my hair for a disco I am going to next week will curls go frizzy too??My hair goes frizzy at party's how can I stop it?
Your head is probably sweating and making the hair friz. You should use one of the anti-friz silicone products that can be used on both wet and dry hair, it works for me!My hair goes frizzy at party's how can I stop it?
that depends . are we talking about the hair on your head.................or somewhere else ?

step 3- as your curling then round pull them down SLOWLEY.

How do you use tony and guy hair curlers?

i bought these hair curlers about a year ago and i've never used them because i can't, i've tried a fair few times but all it does is put a massive kink in my hair :(

these are the curlers i have

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41c0RwkbdcL._SL500_AA280_.jpg

anybody who has these curlers could you send me video or tell me how to use them? i can curl my hair with my Straighteners but i'd really like to know how you use the curlers, i've tried using my friends curlers and i could do it with them but maybe there's a different technique used for these ones becuase they just will not work! haa. thank you (:How do you use tony and guy hair curlers?
just like any other hair curler!

How to make your hair wavy?

Right I have just washed my hair and I am back at school tomorrow. Instead of my usual straight style I wanted to go with some nice waves in my hair. When my hair drip dries is is curly and frizzy and crazy so do you have any ways to make your hair have nice waves.

Does it work when you put a bobble in your hair and then another bobble about 1 inch down and so on - does it give you wavy hair?

I want it a bit like this ..

Also how do you curl your hair with fat straighteners?

Thanks in advance xHow to make your hair wavy?
i do my hair like that. First i wash it then i put moose in it after and let it dry. Then i take my curling iron and curl each piece and split each curl in half. Then i put this stuff in it that makes it shiny and it looks amazing. You should try it =DHow to make your hair wavy?
if i were you i would try it before hand rather than beofre school beucase it could go really wrong and then you would rush to school but obviously you don't havet to do that,

i usually put mousse in my hair tip it to the saide and blow dry it whilst scrunching it

try twisting the straightener at an angle and see what happens, it depends on the heat of them how quick and well they will curl
    curling iron
her hair is done with curlers, but you can make your hair wavy by splitting your hair into 4 sections and plaiting each one make sure your hairs wet though:) and leave them in until your hairs dry! xx

    ok so number 1

    1. i want to curl m hair without a curling iron. i have the chi hair straightener but it never works to curl my hair. i shower at night, and I have like 10 min in the morning to style my hair, tho i could get up early. my mom wont buy me a hair curler, but she'll but me hair curlers. which brand is the best? are the hot ones the best? i think id rather have hot ones, that only take 10-20 minuets, and the curls last the whole day, with just a little hair spray..i don't like hair spray though, but i'll use it. i like curls, and messy beach waves, also if u have any suggestions about how do curl my hair without curlers that would be great!

    2. im having my last birthday party until im older and stuff, that ive been looking foward to forever. i love to grind w/ my friends, mostly girls, once a guy. i told my mom there would be grinding at my party, n i didn't want her coming out and yelling at everybody, she was fine with the grinding. but now she says shes not sure, and shes gonna ask other parents what they think about their children grinding. her words were ';im going to look into it'; :p how do i convince her to let us grind. my whole party will be dancing, and if we can't grind, there will be no point in haveing it. if she tells me we cant grind, i can cry and use that whole tactic, but id rather have her let me cause she wants to. also, i could just let people grind no matter what my parents say, but i could end up in trouble, or never be allowed a parties again...please help!!!!

    Curling my hair! Help!?

Hi, i curl my hair with a flat iron and do it this way.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w74e5aXrF鈥?/a>

But my problem is that as u can see in the video the curls all go the same direction (one side goes towards my face a the other curls away from my face). But the side that curls away looks better and idk how to curl my hair with a flat iron so that the other side curls away too. curling irons dont work for me and this is the only curling method with a straightener that actually curls my hair good. A video with this method but showing how to curl my hair outwards would be very helpful. or do u think it is fine as it is? Thanks everyone!Curling my hair! Help!?
if you want to curl your hair with a flat iron and want to get it in a different direction hold your flat iron upwards and twist in opposite direction of the rest. also if your having problems with using a curling iron it works much better if you don't use the clamp just wrap your hair around the curling iron long ways, spray with hairspray, hold for about 20 seconds and let go.

hope I helped!:)Curling my hair! Help!?
Personally I think its fine as it is.
just twist in the opposite direction

  • How to make curly/wavy hair straight?

To begin with, I'm a guy and my hair isn't that long (just a little more than an inch).

That being said, hair straightener is out of the equation.

Also, after I take a shower, my hair is straight. But when it starts drying, it starts to curl.

So it there any way to keep it straight even after it drys?

Thanks. How to make curly/wavy hair straight?
Rebonding would be one good way but after a while ur hair will start to fall out. A safe and fast way would be blow drying it every night and like brushing it straight. A Jappanese perm could also lead in hair lose. How to make curly/wavy hair straight?
my guy friend actually rebonded his hair. you have to go to the salon/hair dresser and they will put chemicals and straighten your hair permanently. ask for rebonding.

however, just my opinion, i think guys with curly hair are hot
Use your moms hair dryer to dry your hair and as your drying it brush it straight.

Wait a min. use styling gel/hairspray. when you get out of the shower and start to do your hair put the gel in your hair nice. (use your fingers to mix it in) then brush it and it would by straight then dry it and come it stright again. 1nce your done to keep it lyk that put alil but of hairspray in it so u wont smell like it cause u dont want ppl to think your fruity (gay)
You could have it chemically straightened if it is that bad??

Ever thought of maybe growing your hair out so that maybe you could give the straightener a go?

You could put serums, and blow dry it in place,

style it with gel and comb in a straight fashion.

Yeah thats pretty much what you could do.

If you just look in like your local store and hair section I think maybe you could find a little something something that is for hair especially for you that will tame it down a bit.

    PLEASE HELP

ive asked this question like 3 times already and i keep getting useless answers:(How can I get hair like this?HELP PLEASE?!?
Okay, first of all, you have a few options.

You have alot of rollers, so the best thing to do, is wash your hair [and condition it] then brush it all with a comb, and put it into the rollers, go to bed and let your hair dry on them. The rollers SHOULD give you those type of curls, using bigger rollers gives you the waviness of those curls in the picture, so your best off using the biggest ones you have, but experiment and see what works best, the next day, brush your hair gently with a regular brush and spritz with a bit of hairspray.

Secondly, to be honest..if you want perfect curls, you need to use curling tongs or straighteners that have the ability to curl [such a GHD's]. You know, if you use a heat protectant spray and condition your hair well when you wash it, the damage to your hair will be very minimal, if anything. Just make sure, that once you've washed your hair, spritz alot of the heat protectant spray on your hair, comb it and then blowdry it. There are heaps of tutorials on youtube for using curling tongs/straighteners to show you how to use them on your hair [i've added links in the source box, of some of my favourite youtubers =]

Other than that, i'm really not too sure

I hope in some way i've helped.

Good luck! How can I get hair like this?HELP PLEASE?!?
My sister has straight hair. And i have CURLYYYYYYYYYYY hair and she wants curls so i braid it for her at night after she washes it while its still wet. So do that go to bed with the braids in. Andin the morning when you get up take them outand ull have curls/waves! IT WORKS, I KNOW. I have taylor swift curls from doing that.
    there are different ways

you could always use hair extensions for the lengths

and if you plat your hair while its wet and take it out once dry you can get wavy hair.

mouse is another option and hairspray.
    Watch this first hun (:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53Lew2Orm鈥?/a>

Wet your hair. It doesn't have to be dripping wet, because it will take longer to dry. It just needs to be damp enough for water to come in contact with every strand. This initial wetting serves to break the hydrogen bonds in your hair so that you can ';reset'; them in following steps. Applying mousse or a light gel helps your curls keep their shape because it will stiffen, although putting too much can make your hair feel hard or sticky.

The only time you shouldn't wet your hair is if you're going to be using a curling iron or hot rollers, which will apply heat directly to the hair; the resulting hot water can burn your hair. If you use mousse or gel with these methods, let them dry completely first.

Straight hair has hydrogen bonds linking the proteins that make up the strand. Since straight hair doesn't have enough disulfide bonds to make the hair ';bend'; (i.e. curl) the hydrogen bonds form close together along a straight strand.

Curly hair has strong disulfide bonds because of the natural structure of the hair proteins, which a person with curly hair is born with. Even though hydrogen bonds aren't as strong, you can ';train'; them to act like disulfide bonds, at least temporarily.

Shape your hair into curls. There are various ways to do this, depending on the type of curl you're going for, how easily your hair curls, and the amount of effort you're willing to put in. Click on the following links for more information on various methods:

Foam Rollers - Gentle on the hair, more comfortable to sleep with them on; time consuming and somewhat difficult to do without the help of a friend (unless hair is short); using different sizes of rollers adds more flexibility in desired style

Braids - Easy to do, just need bands to tie braids; comfortable to sleep in; makes curls that are more zig-zag in shape.

Curling Iron - Good for making perfect spiral curls; can be time consuming and especially damaging for hair.

Rollers - Time consuming and somewhat difficult to do without the help of a friend (unless hair is short); using different sizes of rollers adds more flexibility in desired style.Hot rollers (which are applied to dry hair) create more of a soft, romantic look, but the curls don't last as long.[1]

Bobby Pins - ';Pin curls'; were popular in the 1920s, especially on shorter hair, for making well-defined, skinny curls worn tight to the head. Straighteners - Even though straighteners (flat irons) are designed to be used to straighten hair, they can also be adapted for creating soft curls, usually curlier at the ends.

Hair Sticks - Instead of wrapping a strand of hair around a roller, you wrap it around a stick, resulting in tighter curls.

Fabric/Rags - More comfortable than rollers; produce effects similar to pins, but fabric is easier to work with and sleep on.

Knots - If you don't have anything to curl your hair with at all, tying it into knots can create curls if done properly.

Apply heat. The heat helps to break any remaining hydrogen bonds. This step is optional. If you curl your hair often, the repetitive application of heat can eventually damage your hair. Hair can be curled without heat, but you'll have to let the hair set for a longer period of time and the curls might not last as long. You can apply heat with a hair dryer, but don't let the air blow individual strands (particularly shorter ends) out of the curl; place a barrier (such as a bandanna) over your hair when you blow dry. If you're using a curling iron or hot rollers, you're combining this with the previous step because you're curling and heating at the same time. Keep in mind, however, that even though a curling iron can produce beautiful curls, it's more damaging to your hair than any other method because the higher heat destabilizes the proteins that your hair is made of.[2]

Let the curls set. The new hydrogen bonds that will keep your hair curly only form as your hair dries and cools. If you pull your hair out of the curled shape before it's completely dry and cool then the weight of your hair will break some of the hydrogen bonds and it will not curl as well. If you're using a curling iron, hold the strand in a curled shape until it completely cools. Spritz hairspray to essentially ';glue'; the hydrogen bonds in place. If you're going for a casual look, you may want to scrunch your hair. Waterproof your hair. If it's at all humid or rainy where you are (or where you're going) apply a pomade or oil to prevent moisture from penetrating your hair strands. Remember how wetting your hair breaks hydrogen bonds? Now that hydrogen bonds are keeping your hair curly, you don't want moisture in the form of humidity or rain to come in contact with your strands of hair because they'll reset your hydrogen bonds and your curls will be gone like the wind.

Go on to the GHD website and you'll find the videos how to curl your hair with them
I have a buzzcut so cannot relate to this at all, but surely you'd need curlers to curl hair and straighteners to, well, straighten hair?

Makes me wonder why Ronseal never made hair products.
I dont think u should do it cuz it requires to keep the straightener for a longer amount of time on that peice of hair and it might damage your hair a lot...idk just be cautious!
if you use the thin ghds and get piece of hair, not loads and hold it out so that it is horizontal. Then take your ghds, make sure they are vertical and put your hair in them, at the root. Then twist your ghds 360 degrees and slowly move them across to the end of your hair. The slower you move them the tighter the curl. Hope that makes sense, its really hard to describe how to do it, but its very easy to do.
Search how to on google, It gives you loads of tips%26amp;videos.
Babe dont do it, i used to curl my hair with ghds and it went from being thick and long to short and thin (i had to have a short bob!!) in under a year, i wouldnt advise using straighners, if you do want to curl your hair use tongs.

if your iron is about 3/4'; to 1';, this should work.

鈥eparate the hair into top and bottom halves

鈥ivide the hair into about 1'; thick sections

鈥tart with iron in the middle of the section

鈥lasp the iron and drag it to the bottom of the hair while rotating it, until you reach the ends

鈥lip the iron up to your head and turn vertically. hold for about 7 seconds.

鈥emove iron while pulling down and gently releasing the clasp

鈥ON'T touch, let cool and move onto the next section

鈥hen you're done, spritz with hairspray for longer hold

it takes about 20 minutesCurling hair?
i red an artical that said this girl went to prom and curled her hair and it took 6 hours.
thick hair = 3 hours or more

thin hair = 2 hours or less

If its your first time it will take longer but if your a pro it will be fast
I would suggest going to a hair stylist to get the perfect look !

How to style my hair like Nick Jonas'?

Okay, so at my school we have this homecoming week where we dress like something different every week. I was planning on being Nick Jonas, and my friend was going to be Miley Cyrus, lol. But anyway, my hair is SUPER thick and straight, and I wanted to curl it. But when I try to scrunch it or curl it with a straightener or curler, it doesn't hold. What are some other ways to ';curl'; my hair to look somewhat like Nick Jonas'?How to style my hair like Nick Jonas'?

In this case you're probably going to need to use hot rollers.

After applying the hot rollers to your entire head and allowing them to set, lightly brush the resulting curls and spray with hair spray to hold. You can also use standard hair rollers on damp hair or fashion your hair into pin curls using bobby pins and sit under a hair dryer until the hair is dry. i have strait, brown/blond hair, it is a little past my shoulders, i have almost always worn it down, and i'm going into high school, and i want to do something different with my hair! i have a ovalish round face. I have never curled my hair, or anything, i wear it in a ponytail some times, but i need to do something new with it!! i would appreciate any suggestions and/or photos!

all that i have is a straightener, and hair dryer (and brushes)

oh, and if it is something complicated, please explain how to do it!

But I have some suggestons that might make a difference.

When I scrunch hair like yours, I put LOTS of product on it and then I don't dry it all the way. I use seerum and cremes - often together- Anything that is made to control frizz without getting stiff.

I don't touch it untill it is completely dry.

I have found that using a ceramic flat iron works so much better than any other kind.

I use lots of moisturizing conditioner. What can i do with my hair?
work the bangs, when i was a freshman in high school i realized with all of my new classes and stuff getting up in the morning can be a drag, your hair is straight so your already good to go, just work with the bangs, high pony's with side bangs, side buns with witty bangs, just work your bangs.. trust me... good luck :]
High school is no different. Just more immature people, why do you feel you need to look different then you do now.

How to keep your curls in tact?

I curl my hair using GHD straighteners (I know, straighteners to curl hair, well it is do-able), at night, I spray each one with strong hold spray. Then at the end when I'm finished I re-spray it. I can't afford anything else than the straighteners so basically if anyone has any tips because my curls are out by the morning and my hair just looks like rats-tails.

I have to recurl them in the morning too. But the wind makes my hair straight again. And when I straighten my hair, it makes my hair curly, but not a good curly, its more frizzy actually.

But anyway, if anyone knows any secrets on how to keep curls in please tell... lol.

    Thanks

xHow to keep your curls in tact?
i used to do GHD curls..but it wrecks your hair and they look un-natural so i started putting my hair in a twisty bun at night and sleeping on it. Curls all next day :) and natural looking!! no hairspray or anything. make sure u use clips to hold the bun(s) NOT a hair tie (that will leave a deep icky kink in ur hair). How to keep your curls in tact?
i have some proper curling tongs you can have if you want. I will post them too you. ( no i'm not a freak just a kind generous person trying to get rid of something i never use!) I still think you have to do it in the morning tho. sleeping ruins everyones hairstyles, lol!
    Why don't you put rollers.

Rollers will help keep the curl and mostly that your going to keep them over night. or just leave them on for 30 minutes and apply hairspray after and before if you like.

and if you want volume just get big rollers.

    hope that helped a bit.
Make sure to put your hair up before you go to sleep because sleeping on them flattens them out. Put them in a bun and open it in the morning.

Use hairspray to hold them in place
Well first before you dry it put alot of strong moose, use a really strong hairspray after I use a boots hairspray its a purple bottle its really cheap and your hair won't move till you wash it!!
Lots and lots of good hair spray.
1 Apply a foam product that offers a bit of ';hold'; and comb or finger it through damp hair. Choose a good quality foam product, such as Aveda's Phomollient.

Step2 Make sure your hair is dry from root to tip. This will keep the curls in your hair longer. Curling hair when it is even slightly damp is a surefire way to lose them.

Step3 Separate your hair into sections before curling, so you will have curls around you entire head and not just on the top sections. Smaller sections of hair hold curls longer than larger sections.

Step4 Use a heat-activated product when you begin curling your hair. Heat-activated hairsprays and gels work with your curling iron to increase hold. The Thermasilk line from Unilever works well.

Step5 Make curls tighter than you want them to look. Curls will fall and loosen. Tightening them in the beginning will give you more freedom when styling your hair.

Step6 Apply a quality finishing product to make sure the curls don't fall. Try Aveda's Air Control hair spray. It's designed to protect your curls from their No. 1 enemy, humidity.

    Warnings;

Tuck a small bottle of hairspray in your purse so you will have it on hand when your curls require freshening. Wrap the curls that are falling around your finger and spray lightly, hold for a second to allow the spray to dry.

Style carefully. Use your fingers to loosen you curls, rather than a brush or comb. Using a brush or comb will make your curls look frizzy and make them fall.

Anyway to straighten hair with out hair straightener?

there are many products that claim to straighten your hair and i was just wondering if any of them actually work. i don't want to go to a stylist, my friends would call me gay for using a hair straightener, and no matter how hard i try to blow dry it straight it just curls more. If there are any miracle shampoos, conditioners, or gels please let me know because I'm trying to impress a girl and she likes guys with straight hair =[.Anyway to straighten hair with out hair straightener?
Alot of guys straighten their hair, how would they know if you used a straightener or something else? Ignore them, and focus on the girl. I know you said you don't want to go to a stylist but if you did, you could get it chemically straightened..cost about $100-$150 last about 6 months. Also, maybe you aren't blow drying it straight correctly? use a round brush and while you are drying your hair pull your hair down with the hairbrush with the hairdryer very close to it thats how they do it at the hair dressers.

As for shampoos/products; Get the Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight, I guarantee that it will work. Bedhead, sunsilk anti-poof, paul mitchell serum, Suave Professionals - Sleek Smoothing Cream, and chi hair products.

Im a boy and I straighten my hair every morning. If your friends call you gay then just ignore them. A girl you love should be first priority over friends calling you gay.

What can I do to fix my hair?

Hi. Before I start, you should know that I'm a 14-year-old BOY, so please don't give me advice for girls. Thanks :). I've had curly hair all my life. Like, it's not an afro, because it doesn't all go up over my head, but kind of goes ';around'; my head. After I take a shower, it kind of looks like wavy hair and it goes down and really long. You can still see a lot of curls, but I guess you could call it wavy.

Now, like I said before, I've had it for all my life. I hate it so so so much but I don't want to cut it short. I know that if I do, it will look horrible. No offense, but I think having short hair that is curly is repulsive (on me, I can't say that about others because some people look really good with short curly hair). Short curly hair would look horrible on me. My parents REALLY want me to cut it, but they aren't forcing me to. They've wanted me to cut it for so long now. Maybe even more than 5 years already!

So, now here's the big problem. If I cut my hair in the middle of the year, everyone will notice the change and I'll get too much attention. I don't want that. I want people to not notice. Wait, that's impossible, like, just make less of a big deal about it. And if you think I'm acting self-centered, you're wrong. On April Fool's day, I wore a black wig that looked kind of like my hair. I told people I dyed my hair black. In 10 minutes, people who just came into the school already knew about it. And this year, I'm going into the high school. That means that I'll have brand new teachers. It's either now or in four years (after high school), because there's no way I'll cut it in the middle of high school. All the teachers will notice the change, and I'd rather cut it before high school. So that leaves me with about a month left to do something, and if I make a mistake I might not be able to change it in time and I'll come to school looking horrible. I need to get it over with already.

Okay, so I want something that looks really good. Maybe I can use my long hair to do it. Anything that doesn't have curly hair involved is good (EXCEPT FOR DREADLOCKS AND MOHAWKS). Like, almost anything is good, from short BUT STRAIGHT hair, to long, emo hair. I don't care. I just need to get rid of the hair I have now.

Hopefully, my parents won't mind what I do with my hair like they mind what my sister does with her hair, because they've wanted me to cut my hair for so long that anything will be good for them. Well, that's what I'm hoping for anyways.

Oh, and something important. I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY shy, and I could never go to a barber shop and just explain what I want. Also, I don't know of any good ones that work near where I live. So I'm hoping I can do this at home alone. My sister has a hair straightener that I guess I could use. I could also find gel somewhere, but I haven't ever seen any in our house. But if that's what I need then I'll find a way to get it.

And one final thing. I'm on vacation and I'm coming back about a week (MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE a bit more) before high school starts. I can't do anything here. So, if I straighten my hair, will it curl back to normal after I take a shower? How long will it take if a shower won't fix it? And I mean back to EXACTLY how it was before.

    So here are my questions:

    1. Is it possible to cut my long curly hair so that when it is short it WILL NOT BE CURLY?

    2. What other things can I do to my hair that don't involve curliness? I can use the long-ness of it for more ideas!

    3. Is there anything I can do at home?

    4. How long will it take my hair to get back to EXACTLY how it was if I straighten it? My hair is extremely curly. Will a shower help?

    5. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Is there any other advice you can give me?

    Please answer each question like:

I hear that you are shy, but you MUST go to a professional, or you are going to mess your hair up, and mess it up badly. You need to go to a salon that does mens' and womens' hair. They have style books, with lots of pictures of different styles.

Just look at pictures to find styles you like, then talk to the hairdresser and see if it would work with your style...they will tell you if it will, and also give you tips on working with you hair.

Have your mom take you, and don't be embarrassed about it. Your mom will understand and want to make sure you look good, so you can feel good about yourself. She will want the beginning of high school to be a good thing for you--trust me!

Just talk to her about it, and make an appointment somewhere!

Have a great school year, and good luck on the hair.
    1. Curly hair will still be curly whatever length you cut it. Trust me I've had curly hair all my life and I got it cut shorter (I am a girl.) And It was still curly and stuck out everywhere. Ew. I got it chemically straightened in the end.

    2. You could try straightening it but you will have to everyday and it might take a while!

    3. Blow dry after a shower and make sure its above and the air goes down the roots to the tip.

    4. A shower will make your hair go straight back to how it was. On your hair description, you will probablyy have to straighten it everyday.

    5. Get an emo/scene kid cut, take a photo to the hairdressers do not do it yourself! This way you don't have to explain and they can cut it how you want. :)

  • 1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?

I'm going the buy a Remington Wet 2 Straight Ceramic Straightener tomorrow because my sister has had one (2 inch) for a couple of years and I use it every time she comes over. It does the job, straightening and drying my hair in one easy step and makes my hair very sleek and shiny.

BUT I don't love how it makes my hair look so flat..with no body or volume, I guess because I've never tried curling or flipping it.

So...my question is...should I go with the 1'; or 2';? I have very long, thick, slightly wavy hair. They say ppl with my hair type should get the 2'; because it saves time but can I curl or flip with it?

    P.S.

Please don't tell me to go buy a $200 straightener, yes I know the price would be worth it in the long run but I'm freaking poor so just answer the question lol

go with a 2 inch, and for more volume

try flipping your head over and straightening

your hair. if you go with a one inch for

thick hair it may be hard to straighten it

but since 2 inches are normally also thicker

it will get the job done better and faster.1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?
    2
I've used both a 1 inch and a 2 inch flat iron. I have very thick, stubborn hair but I definitely preferred the 1 inch, because the size makes it much easier to use. I found the 2 inch clunky and hard to work with, and it really didn't save me very much time. I could pretty easily use the 1 inch for flipping and curling and even for adjusting my bangs.
i like the 1 inch irons better- you can use it to give you more volume, they're usually lighter, and they're easier to work with.

To get the volume, when you straightne your hair at the roots, don't pull it straight down- straighten your hair in a vertical motion, ulling the iron towards the ceiling, then pulling down when you reach the roots- this will get your hair straight at the ends, and volume at the roots.

even though its a wet to straight iron, NEVER straightne your hair when its wet- let your hair air dry first, then straighten it :)

    Good luck!

If that still doesn't work, then ask your hairstylist.

Honestly, I know it sounds strange, but the absolute BEST way is to use beer. Yes, beer! So, take some beer, wet the hair section, and roll in a curler. Do this all over your head, then blow dry all the curlers till the hair is dry. Take them out and finger style. You will have awesome curls all day. And the best part is, you WON'T smell like beer (somehow the beer smell goes away in the drying process, I don't know why). I am totally serious, try it. If you don't believe me, try it some night when you aren't going out just to see if it works. You'll love it!

its is soooooooo pretty... how can i get it? does curling iron work...people who curl their hair using a curling iron it often looks weird..(probably bcuz ppl they use the wrong one).....which curling iron should i buy......not too expensive please ??

oh yeah curling with straightener doesnt work with my hair.Beautiful Curly Hair?
that style is achieved using a 3/4 inch curling iron. People who look weird when they curl their hair are using cheap irons that dont heat up hot enough, AND they dont apply a base hair product to keep the curls in a curly state!

    Try this iron:

    http://www.folica.com/Hot_Tools_Profe_d1鈥?/a>

And to curl your hair, apply mousse to your hair until its damp, adn blowdry your hair until the mousse is dry, brushing while doing so. After your hair is dry, clip your hair up into sections, and curl your hair in 1 inch pieces and hold your hair until the outermost layer of your hair on the iron is warm, then let go. For that style, when you wrap your hair around the iron, dont do it layer over layer, do it in an 8 patern so your hair comes out almost like ringlets, but a bit more reformed. Repeat until your whole head is done, and finish off with hairspray

*Tip: if your hair has the little iron clamp mark at the end, then your not putting the ends at the right place! when you wravel your hair, push the clamp down a bit, and pull the curl in again so the hair is tight around the iron. This will make the ends of your hair go inside of the clamp, getting ride of the clamp mark.

    Good luck!Beautiful Curly Hair?

    ok, here's what you do.

it may be kinda hard to explain, but im gonna try anyways.

use a thin curling iron, and instead of taking a piece of hair and grabbing it in the curling iron, wrap the piece of hair around the iron. itll take a couple tries, but after time you should be able to perfect it!

and make sure to use a bunch of hairspray!
    follow these steps:

    1. Shampoo

    2. Condition

    3. Apply Mousse

    4. Braid hair into eight sections

    5. Sit under dryer for 30 minutes (DO NOT BLOW DRY)

    6. Apply an olive oil gel to the ends of your hair while you are under the dryer

    7. Unbraid

    8. Spray with a natural olive oil sheen

    9. Tie ribbon or bow scarf around hair.
    Rollers.

Curling irons are too complicated and you may not get the result you wanted.
You could use a 1/2'; barrel curling iron. Take a section of hair and clamp the lower part of your the curling iron onto the end of your hair. Then turn the curling iron so that the hair wraps around it spiriling up toward the tip of the curling iron. Let it heat for a few seconds then open the clamp and carefully slide the curling iron down off of your hair. You should be left with a spiral curl. Then take another section of hair and keep doing the same thing until all of your hair is curled.

There are some spiral curling irons which have an extra spiral piece wrapped around the barrel, but I haven't tried them so I don't know how they work. It seems like that extra spiral is supposed to be a guide for your hair. If you can find one of those is might be just what you're looking for. If not, you can do the same thing with a regular curling iron.

    United airlines question?

I'm going to Europe with United Airlines.

and i was wondering if we are allowed to bring hair straighteners

and hair curling irons on board the plane?

    ?????

and how is United is it a good airplane?United airlines question?
United is fine. I usually fly with United when flying between the US %26amp; Europe.

You can bring your straighteners and curling irons with you. It's probably more convenient to pack them in a checked bag. You may need voltage converters to use them in Europe if they aren't capable of 100 - 240 V 50/60 hz. At the very least, you'll need plug adapters to be albe to plug them into the wall outlets here.

Curling hair but curls WONT hold?

Okay so am i'm typing this i JUST finished curling the left side of my hair (sorry im kinda blogging?) and as i finish what i'm saying im sure it will be flat! (kinda trying to explain fully)

I know you'll say this is HORRIBLE but i dont put any heat protectant in my hair, nothing. I just curl away and by the time i finish my hole head about 10 minutes later my curls are gone! I dont mind using hair spray, but i've already tried to spray them after i'm done and that just made my hair flat and stuff then instantly washed my hair and was angry the rest of the day.

I don't know how to keep the curls in. I've tried doing the wave look with a straightener, figuring it's less curl and would stay in. nope! didn't.

Now i'm doing it with a curling iron %26amp; they have shrunk with the 3 min. it took me to write this! i have one good curl and the rest are starting to fall.

How do i get my curls to hold! =/Curling hair but curls WONT hold?
hii sweetie, i understand your frustration.

what always works for me is to part my hair start at the bottom and work my way up.

and grab about a inch of hair and hair spray it and the curl it. depending on how good your curling iron is i would hold it for a good 20-30 secs. then slowly work your hair out of the iron.

once i finish a whole row i would then hairspray it all and start on the next row of hair.

i know this sounds like a long process but honestly i have always been complimented on how my hair is so nice when curled. after about an hour your curls wont be so tight and they will look like soft beautiful curls =]

hope i helped!! have a good day

and i cant buy a new straightener so plz dont suggest that thanks How can i straighten my hair well with a bad straightener??
You could while blowdrying your hair get a comb and comb through your hair while drying. This makes the style stay and will be much easier and less work to straightne it as it will be almost str8 anyway :)

xHow can i straighten my hair well with a bad straightener??
    leave it curly :P
    blow dry your hair.

and when your doing it, brush along as you're drying it.

    then straighten.

    good luck =]
Then I would suggest finding another style that doesn't require a straightener. The heating element is shot in your old straightener, and needs to be filed in the trash can.
First of all you can buy straightening sort of sprays, but also you should try blow drying it straight first and then with the straighteners straighten really small strands at a time rather than big chunks!
blow dry it straight rather than using broken straighteners. I would advise you to chuck your straighteners, my friend had a broken one and it just blew up into sparks. Lucky for her she wasn't holding it or putting it near her hair! shocked her though!
I know this might sound crazy but if your hair is long enough you can straighten with an iron... lol believe me it works or you can part your hair into smaller sections start with the bottom first the work your way to the top. and have your hair dry.. so it decreses the friiz!! good luck!
I'm afraid that's a tough one you have there! =] I know hairdressers always grab the hair and straighten hard. My hairdresser also told me to clean straightners you can use nail remover polish. But i really don't know what to suggest...it sounds like you need new one;s! Sorry if that's not much help to you...Good luck anyway lol =] x.x
After you wash your hair brush it. Then put straightening serum on. Blow dry your hair straight. Then slowly v slowly straighten your hair going over it a couple of times making sure not to miss any out.

    Tips on curling hair?

My straightener broke so my only choice is to curl my hair. I just have no idea how to do it. I did it yesterday with all the little rolls that yuo heat up and roll your hair in (can't remember what there called) But I didn't like the way it came out, the curls were all different sizes and were all over the place.

How can I curl my hair with a curling iron. How long should I keep my hair rapped in it before I take it out?Tips on curling hair?
you could use rollers they are great. wash your hair as usual then take bits of your hair and roll it around the rollers when you have rolled it to the top of your head then clip it and leave it until your hair dries, you could speed things up by using a hair-drier.

anyway i hope this helps, you can buy the pack of rollers at a pharmacy.Tips on curling hair?
go on youtube and seach for a user called pursebuzz, she shows you exactly how to curl your hair in a few of her vids. lol. i dont know how to do it either, but i watched her, and learned. it's really easy.

How do I curl my hair like this?

I really, REALLY suck with using my straightener (which can be used as a curler) and I want to get a style like this on my hair...

Now, how do I get it not TOO curled but kind of wavy like this? Do I have to curl it than brush it out a lot so it becomes less curly??? @_@

And are there any straighteners that can work as curlers with a lock or something or should I just use a regular styling curler? 'Cause my hair always comes out bent when I curl...

Thank you!How do I curl my hair like this?
Add volumizer to the roots of wet hair. Put hair in Velcro rollers, rolling up to your chin, and let dry. Gentl%26lt;%26gt;y remove curlers and secure the waves with a light hairspray. How do I curl my hair like this?
    Okay things you need:

    -Brush

    -Weightless hairspray

-1 1/4 of an inch curling iron

First off, I have this iron:

    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h鈥?/a>

It's a Helen of Troy 1 1/4 curling Iron and I use it for just about every style not too small or big. I can do just about anything, like glam waves, loose curls, crimp.

Anyways, any curler that size will work. First curl your hair. When I do this hairstyle I usually flip it all out in one direction. But this one looks like it varies, so change up your direction a bit if you want. But to do it like me (which is very similar hair) curl it all in the same direction flipping away from your face. To curl you want to clamp the end and twirl up the shaft to your head leaving about 2 inches out of the iron on the root. Very simple. Then, flip your head upside down and brush, but no hard or too fast (or too much). When you flip your head back, you will have A LOT of volume. Just twirl each side of your hair in the outward direction and the curls will be soft and forming. Spray with lightweight strong hold hairspray. My hair is hard to curl because I used straightening shampoo and conditioner for a year, and this style will hold till the next morning.
What you can do is curl your entire head the night before with the straightener. (If you don't know how to do so, there are a TON of youtube videos to show you how) and than sleep on it. The next morning you will have that look, because the curls would have relaxed by that time. Or even curling it a few hours before and after you're done, just run you fingers through it. Within those few hours, the curl would have settled giving you the wavy look you desire. Good luck!
You should really just use an actual curling iron instead of a hair straightener to curl your hair, hence the name ';hair straightener';. I don't like using things for other purposes lol.

Okay here's what I think would work, though my hair is like the girl in the picture's somewhat naturally.

-You need a curling iron bigger than 1 inch and I hope you're using heat protectant on your hair!! :)

You taken an inch wide piece of hair and wrap it around the iron. Keep it there for more than 10 seconds [it depends on your hair and it's ability to wave/curl]. Do the same thing to every inch piece of hair on your head. Then if it's still a little too curly - hairspray it, and after maybe 30 minutes comb/brush it out so it will still be wavy but not curly.

    :D good luck!

well my boyfriends sister had a chi, and it didn't straighten my hair very well... i was unhappy w/ the results. as for the flipping thing... i recommend the mini maxi glide... its awesome... and the regular maxi glide... when you first use it its kinda complicated... and you have to get used to it... but once you do its awesome!
Yes, the straightener works very good.

    I recommend it hun.

And for the flipflos I think I've seen them in Rue21 or even walmart or kmart. I'm sure you'll find one. But for more fashionable go to ebay if you cant find one you dont like.

and for your other question..old navy has really cheap flip flops..for like 5$.

i also like the ones at ae, buckle, delias, and aeropostale might have some fuzzy ones?
at the mall i tried the straightner for curls and straight. it will stay straight/curly a few days. i took a shower and was surprised the spots i tried it out on stayed.
the chi is the best flat iron out there for curling your hair as well as making it straight.

    so yeah, its true.

%26amp; lol.. fluffy flip flops? never heard/seen them.
I use my straighten to curl my hair lol.

It sounds weird but it works...

My ex also used his moms curling iron to straighten his hair...

I dunno, but it works that way.
CHI is a good make but i would reccomend the GHD styler as i have them and can do everything to my hair with them they also come with a cd that explains how to do this.

You take the curling iron and you wrap it around your hair, you have to use the clip. You need to hold it upward, for those big flouncy curls... Then hold it for around 30 seconds, you might need a new curling iron.
