Questions about curling hair with straighteners?

Ok so after my earlier question I decided to give curling my hair with straighteners a go. I really like how it looked but I'm having a tough time getting it right, especially at the back.

Does anyone have any tips for doing this or any advice on how to do the back.

If you want the wavy look then thats the way to go

if you want proper curls then use curling tongs
