so I got a two in one conair iron (straightener and curler together) and when I try to curl my hair, it doesn't work!
I think it's because the iron's too fat? and I have really thick hair. since it includes both curler and straightener, here is a picture of it

I have a curling iron like this but it's just a curling iron. I rap a piece of hair around the iron UNDER the clamp. So push the clamp up, rap your hair around the round part then put the clamp down. Make sure none of your hair is over the clamp. You will also want to hold the end of your hair on the iron because it usually falls out. I touch my hair and once it's hot enough I let it go. The smaller the pieces you take the curlier it will be. I've learned it curls better when I start curling it right after I dry my hair. How do I curl my hair with thissss?
try holding it there longer.
conair hair straightners are not good they dont work by a hot tools straightner for about 60-70 dollars
i have that! i dont ever use it though cause i always use my moms cause its always plugged in. but it works pretty well. it has a lock on it that lets you close the straightener to curl. it works pretty good.
the lock does help but it might just be your hair.. i would put a lot of hairspray on while doing it... it will work a lot better and last longer!
no matter what you do the part of your hair is going to be flat. Instead of opening it to hold the hair in place try just twirling your hair around the iron. Conair is crap though, invest in a better product if this doesn't help. and since you have really think hair try using a heat serum, this will help with friz and make the hair look smoother.
If you have think hair like me you need to only do it in small sections to maximise the curl. Run the iron through your hair to make it hot...then wind the hair around the iron and rotate as close to your head as you want/need. Clamp it down and hold for 60 seconds...use a heat protective spray and mousse and finish with a moisturising cream and hairspray
try another one that gets hotter, my mother always used a hot comb, it doesn't look like it is going to work on your hair.
