How do you curl your hair well with a straightener?

my mum doesn't want to get a curler, but i want to curl my hair... she says she'll get a straightener instead. I heard somewhere you can curl your hair with a straightener. How do you do that?

Also, what protective methods do you need to follow to ensure your hair is not damaged by heating hair stuff (like straighteners and blow driers and stuff)How do you curl your hair well with a straightener?
Go onto YouTube.com you will find some great tutorials. How do you curl your hair well with a straightener?
sorry dexterislove! i didnt get to this in time to vote for you. Sorry SleepySwimmer, but i prefer dexterislove and MrZ.FaiLLo for their answers, coz they actually put in the links and did the work. And for that I'd rather give them the 10 points. *sigh* what a shame...

This video shows how to do it. If the link doesn't work you can try other youtube videos. Just type in curling with a straightener or flat iron.

There's stuff you can buy to put in your hair before straightening/curling. Its called heat protecting serum. I have Fructis Garnier antifrizz/heat protection that work really well. =)
first do a straightening...that will make the curls stay in longer i suggest a flat iron or straightening shampoo/conditioner

then take the straightener and clamp it on the ends of the piece of hair you want to curl then twirl it up as if you were using a hair curler keep it there for a minute for tight bouncy curls 30 seconds for wavy curls and 15 seconds for loose waves do this on a piece of hair that is no more than two inches when placed in the hair straightener

u can use citrashine oil or heat activated sprays or gels that will protect your hair in it will go back to its natural state if you use it :D

hope this helps good luck
